YouthSites has developed a typology of 60 youth arts organizations across Vancouver, Toronto and London. Through archival research, interviews and public facing documents such as annual reports, we explore how cultural and social policy is envisaged to intersect with educational outcomes.

Case study Organizations

YouthSites is working closely with 16 youth arts organizations across cities. We focus on organization histories and trajectories through engaging with key directors, instructors, pioneers of the field and participating youth. It is here, where social actors of the community provide unique accounts of place, identity, pedagogy, professionalization and nonformal learning as a way to account for the educational imaginaries and ecologies in each city.
